SAARC SUMMIT

The 16th SAARC summit was held in Thimphu from April 28 .Two new agreements signed  environment and trade in service . This was the first time Bhutan hosted as SAARC summit. Bhutan chose climate change as the theme of the event. Theme of the summit is climate change . Butan choose climate change as the theme of the event at a time when the issue has engaged the world in a more meaningful manner than ever.South Asia being one of the world's ecologically most diverse and one of the most ecologically fragile regions is highly vulnerable to effects of climate change and one has witnessed the untold sufferings inflicted up on the poorest of the poor in the area by Tsunami and cyclones Aila and Sidr.
